With the holiday season upon us, a suggestion was put in the suggestion box that we have an Ohana Night that is biblically themed. We agree. We think that is a great idea so we at ITWK have agreed to host a biblical Ohana Night this holiday season, and stone to death an adulterer, per Deuteronomy 22:23-24, which tells us:
If there is a betrothed virgin, and a man meets her in the city and lies with her, then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones, the young woman because she did not cry for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbor’s wife. So you shall purge the evil from your midst.
With lava rocks collected by the Horticulture crew, we will stone the adulterer on the mound after dinner at 8:00, so the kitchen crew has time to get there too. The stoning will continue until the adulterer is dead. Hot chocolate with little marshmallows will be served. If no adulterer can be found, we will instead turn to the tenth of the Ten Commandments for the Ohana Night festivities:
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife.
And we will stone to death the neighbor’s wife that got coveted because she is a temptress.
The holiday season is always a special time of year, and we can’t wait to come to together as an Ohana and celebrate! Happy Holidays, Ohana!
